Low Calorie Chili

2 1/2 lb. lean coarse ground beef
2 Tbsp. chili powder
1/4 c. diced chili pods, stems and seeds removed
1 can tomatoes, mashed
1/2 chopped onion
1 garlic bud, chopped fine
1 quart water

Brown meat. Add chili powder, garlic and tomatoes. Cook 10 minutes. Add onions and cook 10 minutes longer. Add chili pods to water and boil until soft. Add to rest of ingredients and cook slowly for 20 minutes. Add more water if necessary.
