Five-Hour Beef Stew


2 pounds beef cubes
1/4 teaspoon pepper
5 medium onions, cubed
6 carrots, peeled and chunked
1 cup celery, sliced
1 green pepper, chunked
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 slice bread, cubed
1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Mix all ingredients in large casserole dish. Bake uncovered at 250 for 5 hours.
