Strawberry Champagne Punch

1 quart ripe strawberries
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 750 ml bottle Rhine wine or Chablis, chilled
1 750 ml bottle champagne, chilled
1 pint sparkling water, chilled

Place strawberries in punch bowl with lemon juice. Pour 1/2 bottle of wine over this and let stand in refrigerator for 3 hours. Just before serving place good size chunk of ice in bowl, add remainder of wine, champagne and sparkling water, all well chilled. Stir lightly and serve in punch glasses. Add strawberries to garnish. Makes 10 glasses.
