Brown Sugar Apple Pie
Filling:
1 unbaked pastry shell
6-7 cups thin sliced apples
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoon quick cooking tapioca
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Topping:
1/2 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup butter
Pare and thinly slice apples. Add brown sugar, tapioca, lemon juice,
cinnamon & nutmeg.
Arrange in pastry shell. In small bowl, mix brown sugar, cheese, and flour.
Cut in butter with a pastry blender. Sprinkle over apple mixture. Bake @ 425
for 40-45 minutes or until apples are tender.
