Apple Spice Cookies

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. applesauce
1 tsp. vanilla

Add these ingredients:

2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/ 2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. pecans

Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes according to size of cookie dough dropped on sheet.
