Nutty Banana Bread


1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
1 1/2 cups mashed bananas
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon' baking soda
3/4 cup nuts

Preheat oven to 350°. Combine sugar and butter; beat until creamy. Add egg and water, beat in thoroughly. Gradually stir in mashed bananas. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir into banana mixture. Blend well. Add nuts. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan and bake approximately 1 hour. Check for doneness with knife – should come out clean. Cool before cutting.
